Pennsylvania Stops Recognizing Utah’s CCW Permit

On May 6th of this year the below letter was sent from the attorney general’s office of Pennsylvania to the office of the Utah Department of Public Safety. Apparently the state of Pennsylvania is no longer comfortable honoring the Utah permit being issued to out of state residents who do not first obtain a permit from their home state. Of course Utah’s policy is that non-residents who live in a state that has reciprocity with Utah must first obtain a permit from their home state before applying for the Utah permit. Either way you want to look at it the state of Pennsylvania no longer honors the Utah permit.
